Privacy statement and policy
We will respect your privacy in all our dealings with you. For information about how we must treat your personal information, see National Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
Web logs
We record information about your use of this site in our web log files. This is automatic and almost all websites record this information. Our logs include:
- Date and time of your visit
- Pages and files you looked at
- Your IP address
- The type of web browser you use
- How you came to our site (e.g. from another site, by searching)
Subscribing to newsletters and mailing lists
We will not sell or pass on your information to any third party. We will only use your information for the purpose described when you subscribe.
Surveys
From time to time we may run surveys on this site. When we do, we will tell you what information we plan to collect and how we will use it. We won't ever ask your name.
Usability research projects
When we run usability research projects, we always tell you up front what information we are collecting, why we are collecting it, and what we will use it for. We do not give your information to anyone else, unless we are doing the research for a client (and we will tell you if this is the case).
We only collect the information we need to recruit the right mix of research participants and to help us analyse our findings.
When we record the sessions on video, we may use some clips in our workshops or in presentations. But we always tell you this up front so you can opt out if you wish. We use the clips to show people (our clients, workshop participants, people working in the field of web design) what makes a good website and what needs to be improved.
